A program that encourages anyone in the Bow Valley to take growing food into their own hands while taking advantage of our beautiful Rocky Mountain climate, regardless of garden space - be it a patio, balcony or yard.
Free Grow Kits
Veggie grow-kits (containers, seeds, soil) will be provided to lower-income and food-insecure Bow Valley residents, made possible by donations from the Banff Canmore Community Foundation. As there is a limited supply of kits, successful applications are awarded based on need. All applicants will be contacted. Deadline to apply for a grow-kit is May 12th. Educational Speaker Series
Each month there will be a different free online skill-building / educational session and speakers will be announced soon.
The goal of Food From Home is to unite the community and provide an inclusive support group for anyone at any skill level, income-level or housing situation to be empowered to grow their own food. Please join our facebook group to connect with others, engage with the community and learn about upcoming events. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1116754495466657/
All Bow Valley residents are able to participate in Food From Home, including those living Lake Louise, Banff, Canmore, MD Bighorn, Kananaskis and Morley. This program was created in partnership with the Town of Canmore with support from the Bow Valley Food Alliance.
We gratefully acknowlege the support of the Banff Canmore Community Foundation.
